Author Q & A with Rebecca Cassells

Rebecca Cassells is a young Indie Author who has published her first books this year Sparked Revolution, Heated Empire, and Kingdom Ablaze are both parts of The Rising Dawn Series. They are paranormal romance with lots of action and complicated storylines. She is new adult author with main characters in both of her books ranging from 18 to 25. Question 1 When did you start writing?

November 2020, during lockdown.

Question 2 What comes first, the plot or characters?

At first it was the plot, however the more I write the more characters I create to help move the story along. I always get carried away and end up making a whole new outline for a different book based on that character.

Question 3 How many books have you written? Which is your favorite?

Two so far, but I have seven more at the very least still to come.

Question 4 Where do you get your inspiration?

I shouldn’t really admit this but from my own life and experiences. I am a very social creature so I always like meeting new people and hearing their stories.

Question 5 Can you share with us something about the book that isn’t in the blurb?

The nickname Sweetness is very personal to me as it’s what my own husband calls me.

Question 6 Tell us about the process for coming up with the cover.

I managed to get back in touch with an old friend of mine who is a graphics designer and thanks to him asking me questions and giving me a variety of options we worked together to come up with something I felt captured what I not only needed in a cover but what I wanted as well.

Question 7 Are you working on anything at the present you would like to share with your readers about?

Yes and I am very excited to say that the final book for The Rising Dawn Series will be available by Christmas 2021 as well the first spin off to the series Accepting the Unacceptable, A Jaded Story.

Question 8 What book is currently on your bedside table?

I am a Kindle reader, I have difficulty reading to I need a platform that I can change the background colour and the font size in order to be able to read. On my Kindle I currently have Emily Goodwin The Dawson series downloaded.

Question 9 What do you like to do when you are not writing?

Play with my kids, I am a mother of three beautiful children who deserve more of my time than anything else.

Question 10 Share something your readers wouldn’t know about you.

The proudest thing I have is my Royal Princess Diane Award, it reminds me that despite my own hardships we all still have the capability to help others.
