Question 1 If you could pick one thing to remove/change from any your books or book what would it be?
To be honest, I wish “The Christmas Wedding Planner” was longer but I didn’t want to drag it unnecessarily. I wanted it to reflect the roughly three weeks that the story took place during, which is considered rather short.
Question 2 What part of the book was the most fun to write?
Writing the Christmas atmosphere of a romantic small town was the most fun to write, it came rather naturally and never failed to put a smile on my face.
Question 3 What is the significance of the title?
The title is pretty straightforward as the main character is a wedding planner, but the significance of the word “Christmas” is strong because she plans a Christmas wedding for the first time and the whole book is surrounded by that event.
Question 4 If you’re planning a series, can you share a tiny bit about your plans for it
Well, technically I shouldn’t say, but, maybe I can make an exclusive exception. Initially, “The Christmas Wedding Planner” was supposed to be a one-off book, just a holiday special. However, as I started discovering the characters, I fell in love with their personalities and yearned to write more. So, I decided to write a sequel to it, highlighting their lives since the Christmas wedding, focusing on another joyous occasion that would change Amber Brown’s life forever. It’s still in the rough planning stages, but if everything goes well, it may be published in the third or fourth quarter of 2022. Besides that, I would be creating a bonus chapter about the Christmas Wedding Scavenger Hunt and will publish it to be read for free.
Question 5 What’s your favorite spot to visit in your own country? And what makes it so special to you?
I come from a country in South East Asia that is home to numerous beaches. My favorite one is Langkawi, a tropical island. It’s so special to me because the sun, sand, and sea always washes me over with relaxation, transporting me to an alternate dimension.
Question 6 What’s your favorite writing snack or drink?
Oooh, this is hard. I would say popcorn to snack on and ice lemon tea to wash it down.
Question 7 If your book were made into a movie, which actors would play your characters?
This is tricky. Off the top of my head, I would say that Amber Brown would be played by Emma Watson, Sam Taylor by Zac Efron , Nick George by Darren Barnet.
Question 8 What was your favorite song while writing this book? Do you have a playlist I can share?
Christmas Songs on Spotify, particularly Santa Baby and Baby It’s Cold Outside.
Question 9 Describe your writing space?
Frankly, my writing space used to be anywhere especially quiet, eccentric cafes. But ever since the pandemic, my writing space in on my desk in my bedroom next to a window that overlooks some hills outside.
Question 10 What advice do you have for writers/authors?
Just go for it, just begin. Don’t wait for the perfect time but instead, make that time you start perfectly. Starting is hard, especially when you see others succeeding at a faster pace, but hang on. Everyone has their own pace and eventually, you will get where you want to be. Write what you love and let your spark fire your fingers as you type. The right readers will come, maybe not immediately, but eventually. Don’t give up and all the best!
Question 11 If you had to be shipwrecked on a deserted island, but all your human needs—such as food and water—were taken care of, what two items would you want to have with you?
My giant book of all Sherlock Holmes cases and a Rubik cube.
Question 12 If you could compare yourself with any animal, which would it be and why?
A Panda, hands-down! Sometimes I can be so active and hyper while other times I just wanna curl up into a ball and sleep all day. Plus, like a Panda, I am only active twice a day, at dawn and dusk.
