For most wolves packs are a family unit. They always have a safe place to stay and a friendly face to turn to. For Charlotte Anderson, packs represented everything she didn’t want in her life. After living away at college for two years as humanly as possible, Charlotte is forced to return home by her estranged Alpha wolf father.
Upon arrival, Charlotte is thrust into her own worst nightmare when she discovers she’s been betrothed to the recently widowed Alpha of Michigan. In an act of defiance Charlotte makes her escape, only to run into the arms of her true mate, the most feared and ruthless Alpha wolf in the US. With her life turned upside down and with a deluded Alpha on her tail, Charlotte must unravel the secrets of her strong and mysterious mate, while discovering who she really is.
My Review
I adored the first book in this series Wolfsbane: Evelyn & Aiden. It was the perfect emotionally gripping paranormal romance read, and I can’t wait to see what this one entails.
Charlotte is heading home to Wyoming for the holidays. She is the Alpha’s daughter, but pack life wasn’t her favorite, especially after her mother’s passing. She is also an Alpha.
Charlotte’s world gets turned upside down by politics and Alpha orders. I don’t blame her for wanting her destined mate. Omg, I love how she meets her actual fated mate, and he is big, protective, and swoony. Alpha Hudson of the Alaska pack is wow.
I like that Charlotte has real fears and doubts. Alpha Kyron is very gentle and loving. Politics and rogues seem to damper their happy, newly mated times, but they must be done. I really like the single POV thur Charlotte. Even admitting the strife, the author does a great job of making the holidays merry for the new Alpha and Luna.
Ah, the strife finally catches up to her, as does hindsight. I really hope Alpha Kyron saves the day. At the end of the book, we finally get Alpha Kyron’s POV.
I need clarification on the Emily and Ella tie-in. I don’t remember these characters from the previous book; their back story is discussed, as I should know.
There’s an action-packed, edge-of-your-seat resolution to everything, and they can finally get their fated mates happily ever after. The book ends sweet and quite human with a ceremony and all the sweetness you can expect.
