This story incorporates topics unlike the other books in this series (The Plan Series). This book is filled with suspense, adventure, love, and heartbreak. The author wrote an exceptional story about a free-spirited woman and a military man who must learn to live. This book has moments of twists and turns that will leave you guessing just who is behind the notes. The story ending will amaze you and leave you wanting the next book, hopefully with these characters.
Porter is seeing a psychiatrist at his sister’s request. He is a former marine and protective of his sister. He also seems to have a lot to do as head of security for Mr. Faulkner, the main character from the first two books.
His little stints are getting him and his partner Taylor noticed by word of mouth for other jobs. One other job is personal protection for a manufacturing executive’s daughter after threats are made. Will he take the job? What about Greenhealth and Mr. Faulkner?
They take the New York job after meeting the free-spirited girl but only because Porter seems to react to her. We do get to experience Bowie’s point of view. Porter has some inner demons he has to overcome, but it isn’t the time to do it when he needs to be a professional. This book definitely has some suspense woven into the story, but I think it is to be expected with the nature of their job. This story does get steamy.
Interestingly this book is running in the same timeline as The Engagement Plan but across the USA. I love the ending of this book, so not an instalove novel, and I love that they are acting like mature, intelligent adults. This book did have its suspenseful, heartbreaking moments, but it was a fantastic story. I look forward to more from this author.
