Covet (Crave Book 3) by Tracy Wolff

Rating: 5 out of 5.

I may have reached my breaking point. As if trying to graduate from a school for supernaturals isn’t stressful enough, my relationship status has gone from complicated to a straight-up dumpster fire.

Oh, and the Bloodletter has decided to drop a bomb of epic proportions on us all...

Then again, when has anything at Katmere Academy not been intense?

And the hits just keep coming. Jaxon’s turned colder than an Alaskan winter. The Circle is splintered over my upcoming coronation. As if things couldn’t get worse, now there’s an arrest warrant for Hudson’s and my supposed crimes—which apparently means a lifetime prison sentence with a deadly unbreakable curse.

Choices will have to be made…and I fear not everyone will survive.

My Review

At the begging of this book, the author warns sensitive groups who may find plot lines to be triggering.

Obviously, there is a time jump from the end of the last book to the beginning of this one. It apparently has been 5 days since the end of the previous book. Grace and Macy are worse for wear after the last book’s events, but their friends are beside them, including Jaxson and Hudson.

Vampire cafeteria day, who knew something could be so disgusting and funny. Clearly, the mate bond is still an issue, but I love that it isn’t instant love. Grace is actually so tormented with a decision. This gets more twisted as they get answers to the mating issue.

Once she starts to come to terms with the mating issues, they also get news about council moves, which may affect them. Looks like they have another quest to try to save life as they know it and themselves.

This book gets steamy and so sweet as they accept the mate bond. This is still a very young adult, not too intimate. This book gets twisted as they seem to be indifferent predicaments with no unharmful way out. I so enjoyed the mini-vacation they got and the quick look at the happiness we saw for them while on it. Grace and Hudson do end up going to the one place I honestly couldn’t imagine. It is even more unfathomable the more we learn about it. How will they survive? How will they get out themselves let alone everyone they want to? What will happen next?

I’m amazed by the rest of the events in the book. They are very action-intense and essential to the storyline. War is coming to this paranormal world; it is dividing the factions. They are losses on both sides and all for greed. But what will Grace, Hudson, and the rest of them do to stop it? Grace finally makes a choice, but who she chooses actually surprises me. This book doesn’t end happy, but it does end with you wanting so much more of this story.

This was fantastic paranormal fiction. The romance and action are spellbinding, page-turning, edge of your seat the whole time. In the story, there is so much that the characters are fighting for and working through that you just can’t put down. They come a long way in this story, from high school students to responsible adults. They understand that actions have consequences. That they have to live with, and they have to be willing to forgive themselves for choices beyond their control. I really enjoyed the love story and the support all the characters bring to this storyline. I am saddened when some have to leave the storyline, but I’m glad it isn’t the main characters. Granted, there were many instances I thought it would be with the intensity of the action in this book.

This book is so full of magic, paranormal abilities, creatures, and the most insane action and storyline. It is intense and so intriguing. Grace is a badass in this book, taking whatever she is thrown and figuring out a solution. She has a big heart and an excellent crew of friends that support her. She is very relatable even when she doubts herself or struggles with her own issues. I love her character in this book, being a queen and fighting for what’s right and who she loves, friends and family.
