Everything feels off—especially me. I’ve returned to Katmere Academy, but I’m haunted by fragments of days I have no recollection of living and struggling to understand who, or what, I really am.
Just when I start to feel safe again, Hudson is back with a vengeance. He insists there are secrets I don’t know about, threatening to drive a wedge between Jaxon and me forever. But far worse enemies are at our doorstep.
The Circle is caught in a power play and the Vampire Court is trying to drag me out of my world and into theirs. The only thing Hudson and Jaxon agree on is that leaving Katmere would mean my certain death.
And not only am I fighting for my life, but now everyone else’s is at stake—unless we can defeat an unspeakable evil. All I know is that saving the people I love is going to require sacrifice.
Maybe more than I’m able to give.
My Review
This book obviously starts in the future from the last one I’m assuming we are reading from Grace’s point of view. Her first day of school is eventful as she seems to think no time has passed? She seems to have a memory block and can’t remember where she was or for how long.
I’m not quite sure what is about her hesitation to her mate. It seems odd and out of place. Now they are on a quest to find items to accomplish their goal. Some questions get answered, and this book gets more supernatural in nature.
This book is way more physiological, with a lot of it happening in thoughts and funky conversations between Grace and Hudson. It is also way more intimate into Grace’s honest thoughts and feelings than the last action-packed book.
This book is so full of intense action and adventure, heart-crushing moments, and great forgiveness. Then the author throws in so many twists and turns that you can’t help but read more. And just as I think all will be well again, one last cliffhanger ends this heart-stopping story. This book is a must-read, and I can’t wait to read the next book in this series.
Jaxson and Grace and all the friends really make this book a memorable read. I loved how the author described things, twisted the storyline, and definitely caused upheaval in the lives of these characters. I really love the end, where the author includes chapters from a different point of view.
