Evermore Academy: Summer by Audrey Grey

Rating: 4 out of 5.

Welcome to Evermore Academy where the magic is dark, the immortals are beautiful, and being human SUCKS.

After Hellebore Narcissus exposed my secret, he claimed me as his, a pawn in a deadly Faerie game I’m only just beginning to understand.

Now, I’m caught in a complex web of bloodthirsty courts, ancient feuds, and the lust for ultimate power. To expose Hellebore and recover the Darken’s soulstone, I must become an expert at navigating the cunning world of the Fae and my new life at the academy—all the while resisting my true mate, the Winter Prince.

Win this game, and I regain my freedom while saving humanity—lose and the entire mortal world will fall to the Fae.

But what if the only way to win involves giving up my soulmate forever?

My Review

We begin this book with the Winter Prince Valerian. He is hurting, constantly haunted by his dreams of his mate, and planning on how to burn the world for her to be back with him.

Summer must play the part but inside she is seething with rage and hatred. This fantasy world is unfair, dark, and inhospitable, heartbreaking as she must decide her fate. I like that she is actively taking a role in what she wants instead of just being on the defensive. The bullying and student issues are very much still present but Summer is acting more and more fae. I don’t love that the wonderful soulmate bond is so shredded and angsty again in this book I just want them to get their happily ever after.

Her sprite Ruby makes this story highly entertaining. The rest of this book doesn’t go at all like I expected. The author did keep the steamy scenes on every page. I didn’t expect that person to be behind the bad things in the book and was very surprised by the turn of events.

I love the ending of this book and how it perfectly wraps up this entire series. The author did a fantastic job of keeping us hooked on Summer and Valerian throughout the story.

This fantasy fiction is a bit different than the others in the series it is a little darker, a little more dangerous, and a whole lot more tragic but we do finally get a happy ending. Summer is one heck of a heroine even when she fails spectacularly and Valerian is a constant source of love and protection. The story itself is dark, twisted, and very much fantasy but also has the Ya romance finally. I loved this last book and how the author brought it all together to an epic ending.

If you haven’t read the entire series I encourage you to read this from the beginning starting with Evermore Academy Winter.

If you haven’t yet read you should absolutely read Evermore Academy Summer by Audrey Grey this is an epic conclusion to this multi-book story.

If you have read and loved these books you may also enjoy books with these tags and categories Young Adult, Fantasy, and Heroine.
