Petite, kind, brilliant, and young, Stevie is nothing like the usual women bodyguard Shen Li is interested in. Even more surprising, the youngest of the lethal, ball-busting, and beautiful MacKilligan sisters is terrified of bears. But she’s not terrified of pandas. She loves pandas.
Which means that whether Shen wants her to or not, she simply won’t stop cuddling him. He isn’t some stuffed Giant Panda, ya know! He is a Giant Panda shifter. He deserves respect and personal space. Something that little hybrid is completely ignoring.
But Stevie has a way of finding trouble. Like going undercover to take down a scientist experimenting on other shifters. For what, Shen doesn’t want to know, but they’d better find out. And fast. Stevie might be the least violent of the honey badger sisters, but she’s the most dangerous to Shen’s peace of mind. Because she has absolutely no idea how much trouble they’re in . . . or just how damn adorable she is.
My Review
I snagged those and read them as soon as I found out. I adore this series and this book is hands down my favorite.
This is Stevie and Shen’s story. You get a good long look into the weirdness that is Stevie and all the shenanigans that surround her. She is a genius and it does cause her a lot of mental problems – but being a genius has its advantages. She can easily learn what she needs to know and work well with various professionals on improving her situation and finding meds that work for her physiology.
And her learning curve is STEEP, y’all. She uses her understanding of physics to do all kinds of things when they decide she needs more physical activity. It takes some time, and many giggles, to find something she enjoys but Shen persists and does help her discover something she likes.
And poor Shen. He fell in with them just by being her friend’s bodyguard. He’s the only bear around there that doesn’t terrify her (because he’s a huge, adorable, panda and that’s not scary at all!). She starts dating him long before he accepts that he’s dating her. To Stevie, it just is. To Shen, she’s nuts and kind of terrifying. The way she destroys her friend’s house when she shifts is absolutely hilarious.
They are so cute together. He’s a grounding influence she needs, and she adds a bit of crazy to his life so it doesn’t get too boring. Their father pops up again to cause trouble, because why not? And when Max releases her anal sacks on the bad guys – holy moly – I couldn’t stop giggling.
As with the other books, the romance is a small part of the overall story and it is largely action, adventure, and a dash of gleeful violence. We learn more still about all three MacKilligan sisters and see them in action.
Definitely, an adult read between the language, steamy content, and violence. I highly recommend it. If you would like to start at the beginning, read Hot and Badgered by Shelly Laurenston you can find this book on Amazon as Amazon Associate I earn on qualifying purchases.
