What happens when an almost thirty-year-old virgin agrees to let her Scottish footballer best friend give her some lessons in seduction?
Lots of banter, awkwardness, jealousy, and heat.
Midfielder Maclay “Mac” Logan is a loud-mouthed, tattooed ginger content with focusing on football. But when an adorable, freckled seamstress comes barreling into his life, he finds Netflix-And-Bickering with her to be his new favorite pastime.
Freya Cook is used to being the invisible woman with a needle and thread, offering cheeky punchlines as she helps dress London’s finest. She’s plus-sized in body and spirit, and other than her friendship with Mac, talking to the opposite sex is one skill she never mastered.
However, after one innocent game of Never Have I Ever, Mac offers to play Love Coach for Freya.
What neither of them see coming are the feelings that develop when the clothes come off.
Now they’re both about to learn the biggest lesson of all: Don’t fall in love with your best friend.
Freya and Mac are friends from different countries. He is an Irish football player, and she is an English quirky clothing retailer. Their conversations are wacky but kinda funny as well. They got to a party together, and lots of secrets were revealed after, but it changed things. Mac discovers that she is attractive and offers to help her get over her inability to talk to men. He is, after all, her best friend, and she trusts him.
This book is frank with them. She isn’t afraid of bringing up explicit content and describes it as funny that you love, but it does vary. I’m enjoying her candid terminology and no bull conversations.
This really is a laugh-out-loud read if you don’t get offended by sensitive subjects that are for a mature audience. Beware parts of this book may have you hysterically laughing. Who knew adult talk could be so hilarious? But I about died of laughter. I guess it shouldn’t have been funny in all contexts, but the way it was presented was fantastic. This book is beyond steamy it is scorching hot. They have a lot of mature interactions. I love how the author weaves humor into them.
Everything is going great in their not suppose to happen romance until Mac gets some news. Prepare the tissues as it is definitely emotional as he prepares to say goodbye. Freya is finally confident and has opportunities before her, but she realized she was in love. He doesn’t recognize. Till it’s too late like any stubborn man. Now, what will he do?
Ohh, this book ends fantastically and steamy. I loved this story. It was sweet, mature, relatable, and definitely unexpected. I loved they had a solid friendship before becoming more. I love the humor and the steamy scenes as much as I loved the emotional ones and the ones where you want to slap him. This book was a fantastic romance read. This is one to remember.
