Broken Luna (Broken Trilogy Book 1) by Paulina Vasquez

Rating: 5 out of 5.

Do you believe in Myths? Just when she thinks it can’t get any worse, it does. Lucy lost everything four years ago in a rogue attack. She’s been abused, starved, rejected and broken. As her eighteenth birthday approaches, strange things start to happen, things that only happen once every century. She finds friendship in the most unlikely place and escapes to find her true self with the help of the most dangerous Alpha.

Warning: This werewolf trilogy is not intended for anyone under the age of 18 or anyone who doesn’t enjoy a good spanking. It will take you on adventures around the world, make you laugh, fall in love, crush your heart and possibly leave you drooling. Side effects can only be cured by reading the next book in the trilogy – Broken Alpha!

My Review

This book is about Lucy, the pack slave and a wolf shifter; this book is gut-wrenching from the start. The author is a pro at making characters you love to hate and manipulating the readers’ feelings to connect with the characters. Lucy is unique as we, the reader, find out, and I’m so excited to see how this develops in the story. Be prepared with tissues.

This book is unbelievably heartbreaking and tear-jerking. However, this book gets better as the setting shifts, and she gets a second chance. I love the second chance mate theme and the strong, excellent alpha. This story gets so much more defined as it progresses.

I love the history and friendships that are revealed. I also enjoy the author’s romance with which we, the reader are captivated. Lucy had a challenging road, but I love that Diesel makes it better, and I soon forgot about the beginning of the book with Ranger. This book gets hot and steamy as Lucy discovers what true love is and more about herself. There are parts of this book that are like a real fairy tale, so sweet and unexpected, but of course, there is always a risk or unexpected danger lurking. This book contains a unique and troubling prophecy, something I didn’t really pay attention to when I read this series before. The end of this book is action-packed twisted and turns to include unexpected events. I absolutely loved how this book ended. The ending of forgiveness and revenge was so well thought out. The epilogue is fantastic, and I can’t wait to read more in this series.

This book is action-packed and intense and gave me all the feelings, from tears to shock and even smiling. The characters are relatable and really well developed in their personality and actions. The author did a fantastic job of interweaving romance with an action-packed story. The book does go back to the beginning at the end of the story and provides closure. I love how the author included surprises but didn’t interrupt the character development with them. This is a book I could read again and again it was so well written and flowed so nicely that I couldn’t put it down. I look forward to the next book in this series.

For this trilogy, it is important to read them in order for the family genealogy and understanding of the prophecies.
