My Review

Kylie is a free-spirited country girl raised on a small-town farm. Her older brother Derek is steady and protective, sometimes a little too protective. Then there’s Nick, Derek’s best friend and the local police officer, who Kylie has always had feelings for even though he’s engaged.

Enter Jovanny, a Hollywood actor who comes to the farm looking for real life experience. He brings humor into the story and shakes things up, especially while dealing with his own past relationship. Meanwhile Nick and Kylie clearly have history, and the flashbacks show how much their lives and feelings have stayed connected even when they tried to move on.

The story leans into a love triangle where Kylie is trying to figure out what she really wants while healing from the past. Nick is protective and jealous but keeps himself emotionally distant because of his current situation. The banter between the family and the small-town blue collar vibe adds warmth and personality to the book.

This is very much a second-chance romance about growth, recovery, and learning to move forward. It’s predictable at times but still heartfelt, with plenty of angst and chemistry tying Kylie and Nick together. The ending is sweet and focuses on healing and choosing the life that feels right.

Overall it’s a thoughtful small-town romance with strong family dynamics and a focus on emotional healing.
