What would you do if you found yourself inside the book you were writing?

Tanith just wanted an escape. Away from the mean girls on campus, away from her cheating ex-boyfriend, and away from her ordinary, humdrum life.

A why-choose fantasy romance with five different men, all equally interested in her, provided the perfect diversion… until the day one of the characters shows up at her door. The next thing she knows, she’s inside the world she created, where nothing is exactly as she imagined it. The feelings are deeper, the men are more unpredictable and the dangers more real.

Can they figure out what’s happening before they reach the end of the story?

Out of My Depth is a light-hearted, standalone, why-choose fantasy romance, suitable for readers over the age of 18.

My Review

The cover of this book is very unassuming to the sizzling fantasy romance the story entails. The premise is interesting, but I needed help to read some parts of the book. The book is a new adult, and I like the author’s pov in the story and the adventure. Some were predictable, but the ending was very well done. There were a few points in the story that I considered not finishing. However, I did enjoy the sizzling intimacy, the interspecies mating, and the multi-species reverse harem.
This book is smutty.

Okay, the blurb of this book is exciting. Who wouldn’t love to be part of what they are writing? I love the premise of the story.

Tanith is finding that college isn’t the fresh start she thought it was. She is making friends, but they are few and far between. Of course, the worst day of her life inspired her to write again, and wow, what a story this could be. Wow, I mean, I think every book addicts dream of getting wished away from reality to a fantasyland.

Cadriel is an angel, and he finds himself in a new place, a serene meadow, with his brother, who is a demon. What this place is and why are prominent questions for the character in this book.

Aiqen is a Wyvern shifter in this unknown universe. He is swoony and protective but a bit conceited.  The author also introduces Tymanus, the centaur, and Leith, the Merman.  This is very surreal between reading a book that isn’t entirely written and living in a fantasy world that is devolving as it is written.

This book gets steamy with some outdoor experiences, but it is still strange. I have read a lot of this author’s writing, and although this story is intriguing, it might be the most bizarre I have read yet.  Ah, so we do get intimacy in the normal outdoorsy way and outdoorsy with multiple people. Talk about fantasy come to life, especially if you like smutty books.

The epic adventure-type storyline and mystery begin their current predicament, which is okay. Still, this book is a struggle for me to read.  Of course, the first adventure has to lead to more sizzling fun.

Things wrap up in this weird maze of a story with so many interconnected puzzle pieces, but of course, the last bit is sizzling hot, but the end goes back to reality.

I love the author’s POV in this story. And it has some redeeming qualities, so it wasn’t my favorite story by Melody Tyden, but it was an okay read.

The author incorporates autumn vibes with the holiday celebration in the book’s epilogue.
