I live for happily ever afters.
And I’m finally meeting my favorite romance author in person!
Only, all this time, I thought author, Amelie De Pierre, was a woman.
It turns out, Pierre Toussaint is the man behind the books that make me weak in the knees.
He could be the consummate book boyfriend with his dreamy hazel eyes, strong jawline, and those black-rimmed glasses. Not to mention that accent. Oh, that French accent. When Pierre speaks, I feel like I’m curled in his arms on a riverbank being fed chocolate-dipped strawberries.
Not Pierre’s arms, of course. We barely just met. And I’m just me. And he’s Pierre, internationally renowned romance author.
Seeing Pierre in person has me stammering and blushing—two things I don’t usually do.
Imagine my surprise when I receive a call a few weeks after meeting Pierre—from his agent—proposing marriage. Not that I’d marry his agent.
They want me to marry Pierre.
My Review
Tasha is living the bookworm dream, vacationing on a private island with her book-loving friends and meeting her favorite author. Swoon.
Amelie De Pierre, or Pierre Toussaint, has some secrets that will be revealed to his adoring fans soon. I love that he lives near Harvest Hollow. Pierre is an impressive writer, a family man, not romantic in any way male, who makes his living writing romance books under a pen name. What will happen when his secret is out?
It was the first time she met her favorite author, and of course, Tasha made a significant impact with her babbling and books flying. I love the special moments they get.
From meet and greet to business proposal now, what will she do? I can’t believe she isn’t going to be a total fan girl. The farce, the plots, and, of course, the decision get confusing as this evolves into a marriage of convenience and a fake relationship. Oh, but the adventures are unique. The author actually works in autumn descriptions. And I love the rustic nature of their accommodations. This story has a nice amount of romantic comedy built into it.
I love the French speech and the gentle, loving way he is with Tasha. Their marriage of convenience ramps into unexpected love, and it is amazing. I love that they are breaking all the rules and keeping the book very ya spice levels, even for a midlife couple. I love the reserved ending of the book, but I did enjoy the sweet romance.
