Falling for the Billionaire Wolf and His Baby by Sasha Summers

Rating: 5 out of 5.

When Jessa Talbot’s boss offered her a promotion, she agreed—no questions asked. Her family needed the money, but fighting the attraction she feels for her brooding employer is tough. Worse, she instantly bonds with his infant son she’s caring for. But this is a temporary solution and she can’t get attached to either of them.

Finnegan Dean is cursed. He’s a nicely dressed monster, the wolf inside always looking for a way out. But there are two things he and his wolf agree on. They must protect baby Oscar and Jessa—his mate. While the wolf hungers to seal their bond, Finn fights the instinct. After all, if he really cares for her, he’d never doom her to the life he lives.

My Review

This book immediately sucked me in with some fantastic tropes, the billionaire, his hired help, the paranormal hints. Then it all gets twisted around, adding fated mates, wolf shifters, and an action adventure with a cliffhanger ending. I enjoyed the well-written romance scenes and the paranormal lore in the storyline. The overall story is interesting, and the characters are relatable and capture your attention.

After a one-night stand, Finn gets told he is a father to a beautiful baby boy. But, of course, it is more complex than it seems. Jessa is a caregiver to her four younger siblings, but she needs money and can’t risk losing her job. Her CEO gives her a promotion she can’t say no to, but she is also attracted to him.

I like her practical know-how against his billionaire business mindset. It is quite the contrast, and the opposite trope clearly stands out. The old lore, protective Alpha, and angsty attraction are amazing in this book. I’m unsure if Finn is a Lycan, werewolf, or Wolf shifter, but I love the paranormal. His past seems to haunt him and cause issues for him and the safety of Oscar, but the story is vague in the details.

Oh, steamy at last as he loses all control and mates with Jessa for life. I love the fated mates and the single mate forever in this book. The peaceful life they want is always just out of reach as the action and adventure pick up in the story. The author summarizes this part of the book perfectly: ” Things were equal parts fairy tale and nightmare.”

I want to know what will happen next, but I love the smooth switch from idealism to action-packed. I’m definitely hooked on this story. The author ends this story with more questions than answers but a heartfelt and joyous love. The book ends on a cliffhanger. For most of the story, we exist outside the billionaire lifestyle, so don’t get your hopes up there. Still, the paranormal is prevalent, and the steamy scenes are well-written. Overall, I enjoyed this read.
