My Review
I really enjoyed this contemporary romance with a little twist and suspense set in New Orleans. The bad girl, the southern gentleman, a lot of steamy scenes, romance, and a little intrigue as life doesn’t work out perfectly for them. I admire Charlie in the story for finding herself through the hardship that became her life and for everything she does to make it right. This story has great life lessons, advice, and the perfect amount of drama. This book has everything done perfectly and was a truly wonderful read. I loved the epilogue of the story.
Charlotte is the daughter of a general and has lived a privileged life until her father is busted for stealing from thousands of innocent people. Charlotte is leaving her old life behind.
Simon is in New Orleans, a best man for his friend and a stopper of bad ideas. However, the tattoo artist they meet seems to captivate his attention.
Charlotte goes by Charlie now and is the girl in the shop. Simon is a sucker, a military man, but still can’t get Charlie out of his head; a tattoo touch-up later, and they finally have a decent encounter.
Could the encounters be fate?
This book engages with the bad girl and good boy vibes, and the opposites attract romance. Finally, this gets steamy and intimate as this couple heats up the bedroom.
This book is action-packed as she is living her life on the edge. Omg, her life shatters like a glass ball being juggled and falling; she can’t keep it up and love him simultaneously; now what?
The author does a great job of bringing in the emotional response in the chaotic part of the book. Will love be enough?
The last part of this book was emotional to read and suspenseful as you waited to see what happened to Charlotte. I love how the author ended this; it was indeed a romantic New Orleans story.
