Military training won’t help when the enemy is a force of nature…
All Major Dani Addams wanted when she started up that trail was to mourn and honor her fallen friend. She has no way of knowing the weather is about to turn on her in the worst possible way—or that she’s about to meet a man who will change her entire life.
Ex-SEAL Trip Williams and his K9 Valor were brought in to rescue a film crew that got caught in the storm. He isn’t expecting Dani. But once he finds her, he will keep her safe…even if he has to disobey direct orders and fight Mother Nature herself.
All Dani and Trip have to do to get to happily ever after is weather the storm. Should be simple, right? If only…
My Review
This book is a contemporary romance action-adventure story about an Army major who is grieving and a K9 search and rescue team who happens to be in the right place at the right time. I loved how the author portrayed her characters and told this story. The book itself is emotional, swoony, and inspiring.
This book is part of a series and can be read as a stand-alone story. Tripwire is a dog trainer with Cerberus Tactical K-9 unit. He works with Valor, a female German Shepard who prefers love and food to toys. She wasn’t meant for war. She has too big of a heart, so instead, they were training her for search and rescue. Wow, that was an insane amount of action in the first few chapters.
We jump to Dani and Tiana’s point of view. They are on a journey to an Appalachian lodge to appease a promise made to a friend while in combat.
Then we jump back to Tripwire and Valor. This book gives the reader a clear update on what is happening with every character. I love that this guy is intelligent, level-headed, and does his job. He does save the girl.
Omg, this book does end better than I expected. I truly enjoyed this story and the characters in it. There are more books in the series that I am sure are just as fantastic as this book.
