No Mercy: An Everyday Heroes World Novel by D.M. Davis

Rating: 4 out of 5.

When it comes to protecting his angel, he has no mercy.

GABRIEL:
The first time I saw her, she made my pulse dance to a rhythm that matched the sway of her hips.
The second time I saw her, she was in the arms of my best friend.

That broken, rusty organ in my chest hasn’t beaten since.
Blood doesn’t run through these veins, it’s pure, unleaded determination.
I’ve fought my whole life. For safety. For Food. For my family.
Five years later, I’m fighting for my position in the MMA world.
No distractions.
Only, my angel needs me, and that tin can behind my ribs found its beat again.

FRANKIE:
Gabriel “No Mercy” Stone earned his fight-name long before he entered the octagon.
He’s been a thorn in my side for years.
He takes pleasure in proving his nickname to me at every turn.
He’s relentless. He’s heartless.
Until one day he’s not.
It took the worst day of my life for Gabriel to show me mercy.
Broken and afraid, I let him piece me back together.
He offers me everything yet promises nothing.

When a man shows he has no mercy, you should believe him.

My Review

This story is filled with love, heartbreak, and second chances. The author did a great job of incorporating a strong female character and showing her human side. I love that the love was forbidden at first, and a series of crappy events leads the main characters together. The book surprised me with more twists and heartbreak, but I also couldn’t put it down till I got to the happily ever after. I totally connected with Frankie, and I loved how sweet and protective Gabriel was in this story. He was the perfect bad boy with a heart. This read does end happily and is worth all the anguish that comes before it.

I love the playlist at the beginning of the book. The blurb of this book is really intriguing and absolutely caught my attention from a Facebook ad.

Gabriel “No Mercy “Stone is a hard-hearted MMA fighter currently in Sunnyville, Ca. This girl, Frankie, has ultimately captured his attention, but she is his best friend’s girl. I like that he is a gentleman and watch out for Frankie even if he is an ass about it.

Frankie is in love with Austin, another MMA fighter in the black ops club. She is a physical therapist for the club, and they recently moved to Sunnyville. But her relationship has been on the rocks for a while. Austin is a jerk, and I can’t believe he did that. This book gets steamy but probably needs a trigger warning for abuse.

Gabriel knows he shouldn’t, but he can’t help himself. She is the girl he is dreaming of. Things get steamy, and Gabriel finally gets the girl, but he vows to treat her right. Unfortunately, he doubts himself, which leads to a lot of heartbreak and disastrous events. He is a hard-headed alpha male, and it took a while for him to come around. But when he does, he is all in.

I love the ending of this book; it is was the perfect combination of sweet and steamy. This book, the first of a few in a series, is all set in K. Bromberg’s world but written by this author. The next book expands on characters we have met and more Black Ops MMA. In this Everyday Heroes world, I love that you meet many characters with big hearts and inspiring stories. I have loved both I have read so far and look forward to reading more in the future.
