Nashville Nights by Julie Capulet

Rating: 4 out of 5.

He’s crazy for her …

Vaughn Tucker is the hot playboy drummer of the Tucker Brothers band, whose four albums have all hit number one. Vaughn is drop-dead gorgeous … and completely out of control.

Gigi Hayes’s life is a million miles from packed stadiums and high-profile tour schedules. She’s a small-town girl who spends all her time working in the library and studying to become a qualified social worker. For … reasons.

When Vaughn meets Gigi, for the first time in his life, he’s the one who’s star-struck. But Gigi is saving herself for true love. And even though she’s drawn, against her will, to the beautiful, trouble-written-all-over-him superstar, she’s not deluded enough to believe he’s capable of such a thing.

Vaughn has already fallen hard. And Gigi’s refusals only make him crazier. She’s an angel and he may as well be the devil himself. But when heaven meets hell, all bets are off

My Review

This contemporary country bad boy romance is riddled with a highly complex subject. Vaughn is a highly complex bad boy with lots of demons in his past and issues he is battling, but his love and knight complex are swoon-worthy. I love the romance of this book, and yes, it got steamy but thankfully not as steamy as the first book. I did feel this book had a better storyline. I did enjoy the author’s approach to it and the caring characters she included with Gigi and her family.

This is Vaughn’s book; he is the drummer in the Tucker Brothers Band. He has fallen hard for Gigi Hayes, the sister of Ruby, the main character in the first book. These books do seem to be interconnected. This book takes place during the same period as the last one, overlapping some events. This book has a trigger warning for substance abuse.

Vaughn is dealing with his own skeletons and demons that haunt him in the form of his deceased mother. He is all virile male and knows it; he is cocky, tortured, and has reached stardom.

Something about Gigi intrigued him to no end. Maybe it is because she isn’t clawing her way into his life. Gigi has her own demons to fight, but she chooses to do it by helping others.

Okay, so I kinda love the knight in shinning armory act Vaughn is pulling in this book so dreamy. He has known issues, and I hope he works thru them and doesn’t lose the girl.

It seems she has a wise head on her shoulder, and her caring side is so deep and wide. They make it through the struggles of addiction, but of course, this demon will always haunt them. I love how sweet and caring he can be, even if he is his own worst enemy. Vaughn was such a complicated character, but the author did incredible justice in this book. I love the ending of this story, and the two epilogues are fantastic.

This story does continue in the next book with the oldest brother in the Tucker Brothers Band.
