My Review

  The author did a great job with the story’s continuation into this second book, starting off exactly where the reader finished. We are dropped right back into the lives of Penny and The Professor (James Hunter) with the forced separation that is heart-wrenching. After much thought and events, Penny is confused, heartbroken, and unsure of her next move. While James seems stoic and unaffected. The love triangle comes into play as Penny figures out her next move and just how addicted she is. As the book evolves, you get plenty of drama and circumstances that lead the main characters back together again despite the odds. 

I did not enjoy this book as much; I thought it would just read as too much of a roller-coaster for me to really get into it. The characters just kept facing challenges that caused fights, lies, heartbreak, and steamy scenes. I did like that author kept the original characters in the story and even added some new ones. The author did a great job of the buildup to events that lead to everything falling apart. Still, it didn’t precisely conclude or really fix anything by the end of the story. I opted not to read the third story in the series, and I didn’t really feel connected to the characters and their rocky romance. 

Plenty of hot scenes and heartbreak to keep the reader on the edge of their seat. We definitely got to know both Penny and James at a deeper level. Also, I love introducing The Professor’s younger brother into the mix; he was a refreshment to the story. 

I even like that James had a huge decision in this book that will affect future stories. I think this book is an excellent catalyst between the first story and what’s to come. However, I won’t be reading this series anymore as I didn’t enjoy this book. 

This book is for a mature audience due to explicit content.
