Snug in Iceland by Victoria Walker

Rating: 4 out of 5.

Rachel Richards’ life in London has lost its sparkle. Her boyfriend Adam is more interested in his job than in her, and her dreams of adventure have faded into a monotonous routine. When her company, Snug, offers her the chance to oversee a new store opening in Iceland, Rachel seizes the opportunity for escape.
Guided by charismatic Icelandic local, Jonas, Rachel discovers the breathtaking beauty of Reykjavik and the wild landscapes beyond. As geysers erupt and the snow falls, Rachel feels her heart awakening to a life she never knew she wanted.
With each passing day, Iceland’s magic seeps into her soul, and Jonas becomes harder to resist. Will Rachel return to the comfort of her familiar life in London, or embrace the unknown and the promise of a love as fierce and untamed as Iceland itself?

My Review

Rachel works and lives in London. Her store is expanding, and she is looking for a new professional to run the new store in Iceland.
They offered her the position, and of course, she accepted it. Her relationship with Adam is on the rocks, and she seems to be in midlife.

Her adventure in Iceland is making me swoon. The hot springs, naturally heated pools, fresh snow, and knitted hats bring all the cozy parts of winter to mind as you read this. She may be there on business but has fun visiting like a tourist.

Of course, she makes a friend in Iceland and somehow questions her relationship. She gets caught in a snowstorm with her new friend and has to stay the night in a remote cabin. Technically, this book is cheating on her part as she hasn’t ended the previous relationship.

The story goes beyond kissing and gets steamy but isn’t well described. Now Rachel is having a fling while working away from home with a ticking clock over her head. I love how Jonas treats her. Things go from happy to not, but then she decides to uproot her previous life. I’m glad she chose to stay in Iceland, where she is happy.

The book ends sweetly, and my favorite part of the story was the scenery and adventures, especially in the hot springs. However, it was an okay read—a little predictable, but well done.
