My Review
Overall
This series is a dark, gritty suspense that begins with a rags-to-riches storyline. It is set in a college setting on an island with a lot of secret society mafia-like twists. I did love the enemies-to-lovers storyline throughout the series, which starts with some bullying but quickly becomes more of a morally grey Mc and feisty, curvy female. The story evolves through three secrets, angsty scenes, and intriguing decisions. It is sizzling hot with a multiple-partner new adult romance filled with trigger warnings, chess moves, and surprises. Overall, this series was great, and I wish I had read it sooner. Each book in this series was a 5-star read for me, and I really enjoyed the storyline.

This story is dark, angsty, and filled with delicious banter. The storyline has quite a few twists, but the overall plot stays true to the beginning, with enemies to lovers, rags to riches, and dark romance tropes. I personally love the surprises and secrets that are discovered. Nova hasn’t had it easy, and coming to the island is no dream come true, but Lucien and Nox eventually let go of revelations that start to make more sense. I can’t wait to read the next book in this series. I love how you’re torn between the broody, dark, sadistic character and the morally grey one. Nova might be the light in both their worlds. But can she survive long enough to learn the truth?
Nova gets a random surprise with a mysterious man at her apartment door. She is in college and has lost all of her family, or so she thought. Oh, his conversation drops bombs on her, and now she is on her way to meet the grandparents she has never known. I’m jealous that this book starts like a dream come true.
This new start or adventure for her includes an overprotective bodyguard, fancy luggage, and a lot of unknowns. Talk about rags to riches overnight who knew her grandparents were loaded and influential. Still, they are all cold and brutal in understanding their motives.
The gothic mansion and college interest me, and this book has some suspense. I’m very interested to see where this goes for Nova. I love that she is a new adult. There is some external drama with the families on the island. They outright hate each other, which is probably the dark part of this story, but I’m interested enough to see where it goes. Nova is an enigma, street smart, but also in need. She is sassy but has health issues.
Lucien Morningstar is a bad, rich, mean, and overprotective boy. So, it’s totally swoony. Oh, twisted Lucian isn’t all he seems. This story is mind-boggling.
Lucian may be dark and devious, but Nox is morally grey, and poor Nova is stuck between them with no idea what’s happening. Despite the back and forth of this book and all the secrets, the enemy’s banter is fabulous. That kiss is steamy, but Lucian is definitely the more scary brother.
The book ends on a cliffhanger with more trouble, and Nova’s issues are still unsolved.

I love this book picks up right where the last left off. Lucian, Nox, and Nova are still in a battle of wills. The secret society is creepy. Their creed is genuinely corrupt.
This book gets steamy as they finally combust after all the enemies to lovers flirting and banter. Ah, this does start the reverse harem or at least multiple partners. This dark romance is both twisted and enticing as I can’t seem to put it down, and I am binge-reading this series. I love that guys aren’t dark with her.
The content warning for this story is real, but only some of the mysteries are solved. I want to know more about Nova and why she is on the island. What might her grandparents know?
This book gets even more twisted right at the end. I gasp in shock and am bewildered at the same time.
This book, of course, ends on a cliffhanger, but only one more left in this trilogy. I honestly can’t wait to see how this ends. I’m absolutely hooked on this series. I love the cinnamon roll, alpha protective men, the sassy female MC, and all the intrigue surrounding the story. This book is like a mafia romance mixed with dark romance, and it drops into a secret society. It is deliciously unique, and I’m devouring this trilogy.

Omg, the final book in this trilogy; not gonna lie, I’m not sure why I left this on my tbr for so long.
Nova is now back at her grandparent’s house. This story is unnerving, with so many chess pieces on the board being played strategically and Nova burning it all down for her own whims. I immensely admire her sassy attitude, and of course, Nox and Lucian touch her, and you know the mentality.
Of course, their reunion is sizzling hot. Their next steps are filled with more intrigue and suspense. This story primarily concerns corrupt moves, countermoves, dark themes, and a polyamorous relationship. The secret society and four families are a lot of drama.
The ties get more robust, and the suspense about familial issues increases. Too
Many people have too much power in this book. But I love the figurehead appearance and that only some are as they seem. Things get really dark and twisted toward the end of this story. It is full of trigger warnings, but it is a great read.
Wow, that ending is just wow. I’m genuinely at a loss for words for this story. Albany Walker has done it again, leaving me speechless with her twisted, heartwarming romances.
