The Honeymooner by Melanie Summers

Rating: 4 out of 5.

He’s tall, dark, and built. The kind of man whose abs have abs. And I only want one thing from him—to forget the last twenty-four hours. Forever.

It was supposed to be the best day of my life. The sun was shining. The church was packed. I was dressed in white and ready to marry my steady-as-a-rock fiancé.

There was just one big, fat problem—he didn’t show up.So I did the only thing a girl can do under the circumstances—escape to the Caribbean for our honeymoon.

Alone.

Enter Harrison Banks.

Somehow he brings out a side of me I didn’t know existed—a carefree adrenaline junkie. After a few days together, Harrison’s got me wondering if the life I always wanted was meant for some other girl.

I should go back to my safe, comfortable life, right?

That would be the sensible thing to do.

I can’t risk everything to live out some tropical fantasy with a guy I’ve just met, even if he is the only man who’s ever made me feel truly alive…

The Honeymooner is a laugh-out-loud, opposites attract romance about a heroine who’s used to staying inside her comfort zone and a hero who knows exactly how hard to push. It’ll have you laughing, swooning, and sipping fruity blender drinks.

My Review

Libby is a business analyst for GlobalLux and is trying to acquire a property in the Benavente Islands. I think it is quite inspiring that she booked her honeymoon there to hold meetings as well. She is so overly precise with everything that it makes it funny, but her flight of fancy childhood was no joke.

Harrison Banks owns the resort on Santa Valentina Island. He is a very laid-back guy, but he is seriously in trouble with the resort loan. What will happen?

Her wedding day doesn’t go as planned, and Mrs. Always has a plan is suddenly thrown into a very stressful situation.

On her first night on the island, she is much more enamored than she expected. It turns out Mr. Heartthrob owns the resort she is trying to acquire. This lady does a ton of embarrassing things, but the banter is fabulous.

The angst and chemistry in their relationship are particular to combust at some point and gasp; they get sweetly intimate in the most romantic spot, and you can’t help but swoon.

Just as she finally chooses happiness, her old life comes knocking on her door. The surprises are sudden, and this book gets more chaotic in tropical dreamland. Still, eventually, they both come to their senses. I love the ending; it is so sweet and adventurous. This is like the topical version of “Sleepless in Seattle.”

If you can’t get enough of Paradise Bay, other books in the series are available so you can keep enjoying this tropical getaway.
