Sadie’s parents die tragically in a car accident – or so she’s told. She’s sent to live with her aunt and uncle to finish her senior year of high school, but there’s something strange about the town and the other students.
It doesn’t take her long to realize there’s more to this town than meets the eye – and maybe more to her as well. Has she finally found where she belongs? Or was coming here all a big mistake?
My Review
Overall, this story is about a new girl who gets dropped into a paranormal wolf shifter world and is a very young adult. There are some new adult steamy scenes, but for the most part, the story concerns the fated mates, a love triangle, and, of course, a little suspense. The overall plotline of the story is interesting, and of course, I love the tropes. I did like the end of the book and the resolution of both the fated mates and the mystery in the story. This book is a standalone paranormal romance.
We begin the book with Sadie, the new girl at school who had to move due to a family tragedy. Everyone is not so friendly, but she is trying.
We jump povs between Sadie and her cousin Ava. Ava and her entire town have a paranormal secret that Sadie doesn’t know yet.
We also get Logan’s povs, the Alpha’s son. He seems introverted. Wow, this gets steamy quick for a high school set book.
Wow, the lengths they all go to keep the paranormal identities secret for Sadie. It is so strange that the fated mates are wonky in this book. This story is very young adult-directed, with the age of the character, the general plot line, and the conversations and decisions.
The mystery of why and what surrounds Sadie and the mysterious wolves gets some conspiracy theory-type answers. But more is needed. I say conspiracy type as they center more around the Moon Goddess, mishaps, and a lot of speculation. The story has a lot of double-crossing, and the villain of the story behind all the tragedy isn’t who I thought it would be.
The love triangle intensifies, and they both want Sadie for themselves. That fated mate twist is interesting, and you have to wait until the end of the book to find out. The book does get a little more new adult stamy at the end.
