My Review
Overall, this book was full of constant battles with themselves, outside forces, and their own mental issues. However, I liked the hybrids with spirits the author created. They were different; this may be the last book for Nora and Kolton, and they have come so far. But the author didn’t disappoint with a great ending and a fantastic character connection with other stories and characters we have fallen in love with from previous stories. This is a different take on shifters and paranormal romance, but it was well written. The story is steamy with fated mates and knotting but includes supernatural magic and pregnancy. This story didn’t get my feelings going, but I did enjoy the book.
We begin the prologue with Kolton. After tragedy befalls Nora, he seems borderline feral. This book begins exactly where the last ended.
But we also get her perspective. Nora’s new position as the Alpha female might be out of her comfort zone, but she seems to embrace it gradually. This book gets new adult steamy as Nora tries to reach her lost mate.
Kolton returning from feral is a process, but Nora seems to make it happen with unconditional love; these fated mates are steamy, swoony, and so good. I love that steamy scenes include knotting. I love that they brought the vampires into the story.
The ending of this book is a showstopper, leaving a lasting impression. The intensity of the final chapters is balanced by a satisfying ‘happily for now ‘conclusion, hinting at the possibility of future character stories. I, for one, am eagerly anticipating what comes next.
