My Review
I saw this book release today and had to get it and read it right away. I love Paulina Vasquez stories.
This one begins with Esmeralda in Mexico celebrating Las Posadas and dreaming of the holiday traditions and winter vibes she has yet to experience. Rico and Chuy are paranormal, but Esmeralda has no idea of the world beyond what she is living in. Mystery adds up as we get her history and news of medical issues that are slowly ending her life.
Cyrus is in midlife now and the Alpha of the pack in Italy. He is a grandson of Alpha Annabeth and tied this book to other characters and stories in this family. He is also still searching for his fated mate. He also is an elemental with the earth element.
Oh, I love the human-fated mate add-on to the story. With so many character names and interconnections, this book is easier to read with a family tree drawn out. This book has repetitive portions. It isn’t Paulina Vasquez’s best work. The family banter and cast of characters are wonderful in this story.
But hope and joy don’t look to be the outcome for these fated mates. I need to find out where or how the author expects to resolve this terminal illness. Well, the other paranormal is a solution to that issue. I did not see that one coming, but I’m glad it worked out. Oh, this book ends happily, of course, and plenty of holiday vibes with multiple different ways to celebrate the holidays incorporated.
This story held a true holiday miracle, and I love the fated human mate story, the other paranormal additions, and, of course, the found family.
This is a sweet holiday-themed full-length paranormal romance with Wolf shifters, Lycans, and a family like no other. This book brings tears of joy to my eyes with the thoughtful celebrations of cultural holidays and the multitude they cover. I loved learning about these different traditions. The book is steamy, sweet, and filled with a holiday miracle.
