I was expecting divorce papers. Instead, I got a new proposal.
When Leo Cromwell shows up on my doorstep sixteen years after disappearing from my life, the last thing I expect is for him to tell me that we’re married.
Turns out he’s not just my ex-boyfriend from high school. He’s the heir to a small kingdom. A tiny fact he failed to tell me when we were dating.
Just when I’m ready to sign the divorce papers I assume he’s already prepared; Leo instead asks me to be his queen.
If I say no, he’ll be dethroned. If I say yes, I’ll have to leave behind my tiny apartment, my busted car, and the job I was just fired from…
The decision should be easy, but playing queen? Not so much. And not falling for my temporary husband? That might even be harder.
My Review
This royal romance is perfectly swoony, funny, steamy, and adventurous. This book is a lighthearted read with a fantastic storyline and tropes. I especially loved the only one bed, marriage of convenience, and, of course, Royalty. The second chance romance is true to the characters, and I love their sassy comments and the forced proximity. Becca and Leo are excellent, and the entire story had me binge-reading while living in fantasy land.
Becca is having the worst day ever, getting fired, a wreck and injured, and getting pulled over. Her luck couldn’t get any worse, could it? I love her sassy thought and dark humor.
Leo is a prince, and he may have forgotten to mention that years ago when they dated in high school. But he is back now, and who knows why? Oh, things get pleasantly complicated after that twisted story.
I like this business arrangement. You could call it a marriage of convenience. I love her attitude, and he is omg swoony. Oh, the only one-bed trope makes this more intriguing. Wow, that got steamy relatively fast, and I wonder how that will affect their business arrangement. Leo is quite stubborn, but Becca is a firecracker.
I thought Becca was a firecracker of women. Her granny is one unfiltered old lady who doesn’t mind saying and doing exciting things to break the ice. This story has ups and downs, but I love Becca and Leo’s relationship. I’ve enjoyed the comedy and the outlandish stuff as well. Oh, snap, fantasy land starts to fall apart. I love the grand gesture and the honesty. I love the holiday ending and the found family inclusion. This couldn’t have ended more perfectly.
