My Review
I love books like these popular tropes, started by indie authors who started on other applications and are now publishing on Amazon. I’m excited to get sucked into a book I can thoroughly read.
She is seventeen now and living in Hawaii, in a new pack, in a new school, and hoping for a new life. Harmony is sixteen and excited about meeting her mate, but when she finally does, all doesn’t go as planned. Some significant complications led her to be rejected.
Her cousin Jared and his band of hot friends breathed new life into this book. A hottie named Trevor catches her attention, but she has been warned. This book is mostly from her pov so far. This book gets emotional as we feel the start of rejection again. The author hits us right in the feels. Just as things get more mixed up, with finally get Trevors’ pov. There is quite a history there for Trevor’s life, and the author does a good job explaining why this book has young adult characters with new adult responsibilities. I do love the Alpha and Luna inclusion.
The story has a whole love triangle thing going from the beginning, and although the first one seems to end with a choice, the second one seems to cause a fight. They deal with adult issues slightly immaturely, more like a need for vengeance than a lesson on communication. Darn it, why does Aiden have to be nice? I was enjoying having someone in the book to not like.
The epilogue is a sweet ending to this young adult, with new adult content paranormal romance. This book was an okay read; it has the makings of a great story in the beginning and middle of the book, but there is not enough drama to carry the readers’ interest through the entire story. I do love a second-chance romance, and this one is okay. I liked the included tropes of rejected mate, second chance fated mate and Alpha, but he gets whipped way too fast for my liking. Although Harmony is a strong female lead, she loses her voice as everything settles.
