My Review
Saige is special; her nightmare becomes a reality and always traumatic events. She is a shelter 17-year-old insomniac. Ah, her world implodes as the truth comes out, and she is sent to Drexel Academy for people like her. I do love the Harry Potter comparison and reference. I love how this ordinary human girl learns about the paranormal. But she isn’t as normal as she thinks.
The rules raise more questions than answers as she makes her way to the Academy. However, when she arrives, she is in for some shocks. I do love that she makes friends quickly. She has some secrets she must not tell, and she seems somewhat unique.
Magical learning, new friends, and boy trouble; yup, this Academy book is the perfect depiction of supernatural high school. On top of Saige’s natural witch abilities, she also seems to have extra powers, and some new abilities manifest. Her journey from human to paranormal is exciting and relatable for a new adult / young adult story. I even like the supposed love triangle the author creates in the story. The only issue is
I am not hooked enough to read any further.
