Six Nights in Paradise by Ashley Cade

Rating: 4 out of 5.

She was off limits.

My best friend’s little sister.

He warned me away from her once and I’d respected his wishes, but six nights alone with her in a tropical paradise tests my loyalties.

When my fiancé calls off our wedding with only days to spare, I’m left with two non-refundable tickets to our honeymoon. The only person available to take her spot: Taylor Wesley.

I try to keep my word and keep my hands to myself, but some temptations are too hard to resist. The passion between us explodes like a stick of dynamite. With a connection this hot, someone is bound to get burned.

My Review

“We were two ships lost at sea, battered and bruised by the ones we’d loved before. We met in a raging storm and were finally sailing into calmer waters.”

Dalton, Six Nights in Paradise by Ashley Cade

We meet Taylor as she is about to make what she thinks is the biggest life choice in high school, finally admitting her crush on her brother’s best friend. Her night doesn’t work out quite the way she plans leading us into the next chapter.

Future Dalton is going thru his own nightmare plans exploding in his face but this time it is wedding plans and ex-finance. As cruddy as these circumstances are I can so see where this is going.

Ohh Lala, a Caribbean luxury resort hmm I have no issue dreaming about that. I don’t know about you but sounds like the perfect getaway. Taylor and Dalton are on their way and I love that the authors added him in the uncomfortable situations. It had me chuckling a little and yes a song getting in my head. The attraction is potent as we switch povs. I love the beach vibes and the sand and sun in the story. The author includes a few expected tropes in this story: forced proximity, brother’s best friend, and only one bed.

The touch her and get messed up jealousy is great but the angsty attraction on his part is frustrating. Why won’t he just make a move? Oh, finally this book gets steamy between Dalton and Taylor with the forced proximity I expected that to be sooner. Romance and steamy encounters what more could you want in a beachy romance.

Oh this romance bursts when they get back home and it is quite a shock but we don’t know the sordid details just yet. Well, when we finally get a hint of emotions besides happiness, it is short-lived or maybe it is just me. Dalton is a standup guy and even though he breaks Taylor’s heart, his reasoning is sound but maybe not the right approach. I think it is even sweeter when they make up and yes we get steamy again.

The epilogue of this book brings us back to the beach romance. The end of this book is sweet and I enjoyed the brothers’ best friend’s forbidden beachy romance.
