Q & A with Author Paulina Vasquez

We are honored to be able to interview this fantastic Paranormal Romance/Fantasy Author. Paulina is a new author with four published books including her latest Golden Prophecy and her Broken Trilogy: Broken Luna, Broken Alpha and Broken Omega . Paulina Vasquez is a wife and mother of two beautiful girls. She’s an avid reader by day and a zealous writer by night. With a passion for fantasy, adventure and romance, she finds inspiration to write. She resides in California, enjoys time with her family and traveling around the world. Her other interests and talents include; gardening, Spanish guitar, prolific cursing, tying balloon animals, dancing, and being a Jane Austen aficionado.

Question 1: When did you start writing?

Early 2020, during the pandemic lockdowns. What started as a fun past time, skyrocketed to success with several ebook platform offers that eventually led me to sign with Kindle Exclusive.

Question 2: What comes first, the plot or characters?

The characters, they drive the plot for me. I always start with a road map of where I want the book to start, where I want it to go, and how I want it to end. But, it’s the character’s motives, needs and desires that take us on the journey.

Question 3: How many books have you written? Which is your favorite?

Four. Much like my children, I love them all differently because they are all unique.

Question 4: Where do you get your inspiration?

I find inspiration from many things, my own dreams and fantasies, feedback from readers, and past life experiences. I even draw inspiration from my past personal travel’s. My books tend to have adventure’s that take us around the globe and give us a taste of local culture and sites I’ve traveled to.

Question 5: Can you share with us something about the book that isn’t in the blurb?

I like to use names of fans, friends and family members for characters. I even have “name that wolf” contests with my readers when I’m looking for name suggestions.

Question 6: Tell us about the process for coming up with the cover.

I try to maintain a clean and cohesive theme for the books. A cover that isn’t busy but resonates with the book. I’ve even asked readers around the world, who have joined me on zoom parties, to vote on selections when I couldn’t decide.

Question 7: Are you working on anything at the present you would like to share with your readers about?

I’m working on Golden Wolf which is due to be released August 1st. The Alpha King and God of War, Ares, will take us on a whirlwind adventure from the Mayan jungle to the Volcanos of Hawaii, as the century old family prophecy starts to unravel.

Question 8: What book is currently on your bedside table?

Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen

Question 9: What do you like to do when you are not writing?

Spending time with my family and traveling. Reading, gardening and having dinner parties.

Question 10 : Share something your readers wouldn’t know about you.

I graduated college with a legal degree and never dreamed I would someday be a writer. I’m having a wonderful time and have enjoyed the engagement from my readers.
